These pendants are hand crafted from all-natural stone, with occasional accents of goldstone—a man-made glass known for its brilliant sparkle. Though synthetic, goldstone is widely embraced in rock and metaphysical communities and is commonly found in shops that sell rough or tumbled stones. It’s somewhat similar to opalite, another glass-based material often seen in the same circles. While I don’t use opalite in my work, I love the shimmer of goldstone. Its deep blue variety creates a stunning night sky effect, while the brownish red tones make perfect desert layers.
Each pendant is made using the intarsia technique. Intarsia is commonly associated with woodwork, but can be done with stonework, textiles, and knitting as well. It is the intricate process of combining different materials to create striking, one-of-a-kind designs.
